Floricienta (known in English as Flinderella) is an Argentine family friendly telenovela based on the Cinderella story. It originally aired from 2004 to 2005, but continues to be broadcast in almost 70 countries. Some international channels airing Floricienta are TVE International, Disney Channel Latino, Disney Channel Europe. It is also available in the UK on the BSKYB satellite lineup.
The lead roles were portrayed by two-time Martin Fierro-Award winning actress Florencia Bertotti, and Juan Gil Navarro, Isabel Macedo and Benjamin Rojas. The show was created by Cris Morena and was produced by Cris Morena Group in association with RGB Entertainment.
The series become a global phenomenon for children and teens throughout Latin America, Israel and various parts of Europe. Floricienta has been compared with Hannah Montana since both were huge crossover acts, having enormously popular shows on television and selling out stadiums.
The telenovela spawned over 200 licensed products. The tour was attended by over 1 million people in Latin America and Israel including over 100 concerts in Teatro Gran Rex, ten shows in Luna Park stadium and four at Estádio Velez, all in Buenos Aires.
The show was adapted by Bandeirantes in Brazil (Floribella), SIC in Portugal, TVN in Chile, RCN Televisión in Colombia and Televisa in Mexico. In an interview with Radio 10, Cris Morena announced she sold the American rights for Disney.
When it seemed Cris Morena couldn't top her previous hits, she surprised again with Floricienta, which was her biggest hit since Chiquititas '98 in Argentina and her biggest international hit alongside Rebelde. The title, Floricienta, is a mix of Flor (the main character, Florencia, nickname) with Cenicienta (Cinderella).
Floricienta was a modern re-telling of Cinderella. The story was especially developed by Cris as a starring-vehicle for Florencia Bertotti which was cherry-picked by the producer

En su debut midió 19.1 puntos, según la medidora argentina (IBOPE), sacandole 13 puntos a la competencia, “Enséñame a vivir”, El Trece. María Florencia Bertotti Baleirón (born 15 March 1983), better known as Florencia Bertotti, is an Argentine actress, singer and producer. She is probably best known for her roles in telenovelas Verano del '98, Son Amores and Floricienta. Bertotti has been nominated for five Martín Fierro Awards, winning two, and for two Clarín Awards, winning one.
Bertotti made her professional debut in 1995, in telenovela Dulce Ana. Afterwards, she had smaller supporting roles in telenovelas 90-60-90 modelos (1996), De corazón (1997), Verano del '98 (1999–2000), Luna salvaje (2000) and Culpables (2001). In 1998, she appeared in a successful film El Faro, for which she earned Argentine Film Critics Association Award for Best New Actress nomination.[1] Her big breakthrough came with the starring role in the Pol-Ka's telenovela Son Amores. It achieved a huge success and earned Bertotti a Clarín Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and two Martín Fierro Awards.
In 2004, she appeared in telenovela Los pensionados, and then worked on Floricienta with famous producer Cris Morena. Floricienta became a smash hit achieving record ratings in its afternoon slot, moving over 400 licensed products and attracting over 600,000 people for its series of live concerts.[2] Bertotti also recorded two soundtrack albums for Floricienta, released in 2004 and 2005. According to CAPIF, both albums achieved a Platinum certification for four times.[3] The role in Floricienta earned her two Martín Fierro Award and a Clarín Award nominations.
In late 2008, it was announced Bertotti would return to television with a new telenovela targeted to children, which would be produced by her and her husband Guido Kaczka.[4] She signed a contract with Endemol to produce and distribute the series worldwide.[4] Niní debuted on Telefe on 7 September 2009. Although it has been criticized for being nearly identical to Floricienta, the programme has been a commercial success and is the ratings leader in its timeslot. Bertotti received her first nomination as a producer, Martín Fierro Award for Best Infantil/Youth Programme.
She has Italian origins : her father has Italian origins, he is Sicilian. Bertotti was born María Florencia Bertotti Baleirón to Gustavo Bertotti, a jeweler, and María Baleirón, a psychology teacher.[5] She has an older sister, Clara Bertotti, who is a lawyer. Her parents divorced when Bertotti was seven.
In 1999, Bertotti began dating fellow actor Guido Kaczka.[6] In 2004, she stated she wanted to "marry her first boyfriend and have many children before she is thirty".[7] The pair married on 2 December 2006 in Buenos Aires.[8] Their son Romeo Kaczka Bertotti, was born on 10 July 2008.[9] In 2010, it was reported Bertotti and Kaczka were to separate.[10] The divorce was confirmed few weeks later.[11] The both stated they would divorce "like two adults, in peace".[12] The divorce was filled in June 2010.[13] A month after, Bertotti has begun a relationship with Niní fellow actor Federico Amador.[14] In August, she stated that "the divorce was difficult and she was ashamed to talk about it".[15]
